This is my big example in a little body.
He is just barely beginning to read and I can't even imagine he is picking out more than a handful of words. I love that out of the hundreds of books in our home this one is his go to book. No fancy pictures, no silly characters, just straight up scriptures.
I would like to think that it has something to do with our amazing parenting skills or that he is doing it because he sees us doing it all the time but that is not the case. This has been all his own doing and it has made me pause and reflect many times over the last few weeks.
I have to imagine this little boy gets a feeling of peace and love when he has this book in his hands and that is why he finds it so interesting. I am so thankful for this little body that has been one big reminder to me of what an amazing book I need to take time to enjoy as much as he is!

What a sweet, darling boy! Definitely an example to me too.
What a sweet little man! I think kids can sense the importance of that book more than we know. I have used it to help my kids learn to read because when you look at it from a "words point of view" there is a ton of repetition. Tons of sight words and short words that they can memorize and feel really great about being able to say by themselves. He might like to do something like that with you? I would just pick a word or two to start with for the child and then I would read all the other words. When I got to "their" word they would say it. The loved it!
