Ok all my lady friends I need some advice.
Each year at this time I start to wonder about teacher gifts. I wonder what should I give, how much should I spend, do I give to the teacher helpers as well, if I do get something for the helpers how much do I spend on them?????
In the past a few of my children's teachers have asked that any money that would have been spent on a gift is just collected and then the teacher buys something for the classroom that she has been wanting. I LOVE that idea, but unfortunately not all teachers feel the same.
So....I am wondering what are your thoughts? I want to put my questions to rest and have a firm policy on what I would like to do each year so I am not always questioning myself. I know I have at least 1 teacher friend out there....what gifts did you just love getting?
Anyway, PLEASE send some advice my way...the clock is ticking and I have not left myself with much time.

When we had the main room parent meeting with allt he room moms from the school. The person that held the meeting said how many apple things do they need or mugs and on and on. Her suggestion was to collect money from all parents that wanted to donate and get a wish list from the teacher of wants for the classroom and proceed from there.
I heard a nice thank you card and a gift card to a bookstore works well.
Here it is not really expected that parents get anything for teachers beyond a Christmas card. Lucky us, right?
But I always bake and take it in right before lunch so they can have it as dessert with the teachers assistants etc.
I think you'll find this has made me teachers pet. Which I'm obviously thrilled about.
