Yup, I broke the number one mommy rule. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS CHECK TO MAKE SURE SCHOOL IS IN SESSION.....ALWAYS!
The only really worth while part of a snow day is the fact that you don't have to get up and run around like a crazy woman for an hour getting everyone ready. When you do get up and run around like a crazy woman only to find out it was for nothing well....let's just say it does not make for a very good start to the day.
So it is 8 A.M. and the kids are already out playing in the snow because darn it I was going to make something positive come out of having them all ready. I am sure that most of you are still in your pj's toasty warm under your covers and all I have to say to that is.....ENJOY!

Oh Brook...I am SO sorry! I have done that before too, so I know how it feels. I remember driving by the school, and seeing an empty parking lot...ugh.
Enjoy the second snow day of the week!
So sorry! I know how it feels to wait at the bus stop only for the bus to never show up. I'm sure everyone has done it once...or twice :)
Not a fun realization! You're right though, the best part of a snow day is sleeping in, wearing your pjs all morning, and not rushing out the door! Can you believe we've already used 3 of our 5 snow days!!! I'm sure there are lots more to come! Do you know about the snow hotline??? I'll give you the number when I see you! Have fun watching Christmas movies :)
I guess there is one advantage to having a child in seminary and that is the phone call 5 minutes before your alarm is going to go off at 5:30am with someone on the other end saying there is no seminary because there is no school!
I am glad to hear you took advantage of them already being ready to go out and play!
Oh yes, I feel your frustration (i already did it this year too)! At least the kids got to play outside - way to take advantage. Hopefully it only happens once, right? :)
How much snow does it take to be a snow day?
